FBA Education Foundation

Our Mission

We seek to promote awareness of environmental issues impacting communities through education to enable & empower community residents, leaders and advocates to effectively address environmental challenges promoting community health, vitality and sustainability.

About us

The Florida Brownfields Association’s Environmental Justice & Public Health Committee has led the FBA’s community outreach and education efforts on brownfields, environmental justice and public health issues.  The committee has provided, over the past 10 years, scholarships and financial assistance to community residents, leaders and advocates who seek to attend Brownfields & EJ/PH workshops, conferences and seminars where finances may be a barrier.

As a vehicle to continue productive and effective community outreach & education, the Florida Brownfields Association Education Foundation, Inc., was created in 2013 as an IRS certified, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity.  The Foundation’s specific purpose is to seek donations and contributions to a scholarship fund. This scholarship fund provides direct assistance (financial & in-kind) to brownfields/environmental justice educational events.  Scholarships are made available to persons – particularly those residing in environmentally challenged communities throughout the State of Florida and beyond.
