Call for Abstracts

Submit abstracts for review to [email protected].

The Florida Brownfields Association (FBA), in partnership with the Alabama Brownfields Association (ALBFA), is hosting the Florida and Alabama Brownfield Conference in Pensacola Beach, Florida on October 24-27, 2021. This event will host workshops and discussions on topics ranging from brownfields funding and incentives, environmental justice, innovations in the brownfields industry and much more. FBA and ALBFA will bring together information, experience, and research to provide participants with a greater knowledge and ability to help revitalize their community.

The conference will include various tracks focusing on both Alabama and Florida-specific topics, as well as general brownfield concepts.  We plan to offer in-person and hybrid attendee options, but that may be adjusted subject to potential COVID limitations, if any.

Abstract Submission

Abstracts should focus on one of the following categories:

  1. Brownfields Funding and Incentives (Opportunity Zones, State Brownfield Incentives, and/or Leveraging Funding Sources for Brownfield Projects)

The Planning Committee reserves the right to adjust proposed times and presentation topics to accommodate as many speakers and presentations as possible. Topics that incorporate collaborative efforts between lenders, redevelopers, regulators, and community stakeholders are most desired.
